It’s such a fair question — and one that can feel weirdly hard to answer when you’re searching online. Pricing varies so much from photographer to photographer, and a lot plays into a photographer’s pricing-location, experience, whether they photographer is a full-time business owner or a hobbyist. It can get overwhelming. Which is why I’m writing this post about how much family photos cost in Oregon.
If we haven’t met yet, hi! I’m Jennifer. I’ve been photographing families in Salem, Oregon and the surrounding area for over 15 years. I’m a mom of four boys, so I get it — getting everyone ready, in the car, and smiling at the same time is genuinely an Olympic sport. My job is to make the session itself the easy part.

Pricing for family photos in Oregon can range anywhere from a couple hundred dollars to multiple thousands depending on the photographer and what’s included. I can’t speak for other photographers, but here’s what you get when you book with me.
My pricing is built around three collections. Each one is fully guided and designed to feel relaxed and fun — because the best family photos don’t come from stiff poses. They come from real moments, real laughs, and kids being kids.
Here’s exactly what that looks like.
The Jen White Photography Family Photo Experience
Step 1: Reach Out Start by filling out my contact form and sharing a little about your family — how many kids, ages, whether you have a location in mind. From there, we’ll connect and start planning.
Step 2: We’ll Plan Your Session Together I’ll help you choose a location that fits your family’s vibe, give feedback on outfit ideas, and answer any questions along the way. You’ll also have access to my online client lounge, filled with tips and inspiration to help everyone feel prepared — including the kids.
Step 3: A Relaxed, Guided Session I’ll guide you through everything so you never have to wonder what to do with your hands (or your toddler). I’ve photographed enough families to know that the best moments often happen between the posed ones — and I’ll be ready for all of it.
Step 4: Your Finished Gallery Two weeks after your session, I’ll send your online gallery by email. You can download your images, share them, and order prints or albums directly from there. All digital images come with full printing rights to print either at the professional lab I recommend or at your favorite consumer lab.

So how much does a family session with me actually cost? Here are my three options and who they’re best for.
Collection 3: The Streamlined Session
This one is designed for families who want beautiful, professional photos without a big time commitment. Thirty minutes goes further than you’d think when the session is well-planned — and with 15 years of experience, I promise we’ll come away with plenty of variety.
It’s available for sessions within 40 minutes of Albany and is perfect for downtown local parks, or simple outdoor settings.
What’s included:
- Up to 30 minutes of photography time
- 1–2 outfit options
- Online viewing gallery
- 10 digital images
- Printing rights
- Option to upgrade for additional images after receiving your gallery
This might be the right fit if you:
- Want a few gorgeous images for your walls, holiday cards, or to share online
- Want something simple, professional, and low-stress
- Are working within a tighter budget
- Want a location close to Albany
This might not be the best fit if:
- You want to include extended family and want candid photos
- You’re planning on a location farther than 40 minutes from Albany
- You already know you’ll want a lot of images
- You have toddlers who might need a little extra time to warm up and to play
Investment (2026): $650
Collection 2: The Most Popular Session
This is the one most families choose — and for good reason. With a full hour, we have room to move through different looks, let the kids warm up, and actually capture those in-between moments that end up being everyone’s favorites.
This collection works beautifully for local spots and ones a little further away — whether that’s the Oregon coast, a local Salem park, the Willamette Valley, or somewhere that’s special to your family. It includes your 20 favorite images plus a $100 print credit to get you started on something you’ll actually hang on the wall.
What’s included:
- Up to 60 minutes of photography time (plus a little extra if we need it — I promise I’m not super strict on the timeline)
- Online viewing gallery
- Your favorite 20 digital images
- $100 complimentary print credit
- Printing rights
- Option to upgrade for additional images after you see your gallery (totally optional!)
This might be the right fit if you:
- Want a full, relaxed session without committing to everything upfront
- Love the idea of a variety of locations and looks
- Want flexibility to upgrade once you see your gallery
This might not be the best fit if:
- You already know you’ll want every single image (Collection 1 is a better value)
Investment (2026): $900
Collection 1: The Full Experience
This one is for the family that wants it all — the variety, the room to breathe, the freedom to not choose between images in the final gallery.
With 90 minutes and full creative flexibility, we can explore your location, try multiple looks, let the kids run around and come back, and create a gallery with real range. Every image from your session is included, so you never have to leave a favorite behind.
What’s included:
- Up to 90 minutes of photography time (more if your location calls for it)
- Online viewing gallery
- All digital images from your session (50+)
- $200 complimentary print credit
- Printing rights
This might be the right fit if you:
- Want every image without having to narrow things down
- Are planning on printing and displaying your photos
- Want the most relaxed, unhurried experience possible
This might not be the best fit if:
- You only need a few images for holiday cards or social media
- You’re working with a tighter budget
