Once we pick a date, a $200 retainer reserves that time just for you. The retainer amount is credited toward whichever collection you choose to purchase.
I'm here for you every step of the way. Feel free to ask me any and all questions about your session. I want this session to be exactly what you're looking for.
3. The Session
For newborns and sessions with small children, the kids lead the timeline. I love capturing your sweet newborn when they're comfortable, which means plenty of time for feeding, changing, and soothing.
Small children may want to play or talk a little before they warm up for pictures. That's ok. We'll go at their pace. I love connecting with the kids.
Senior sessions are fun and laid back. We'll get a variety of poses and backgrounds that capture your personality and interests.
4. Your Photographs & Artwork
I love seeing the beautiful images we've created, and I know you're excited to see them too! 2 weeks after your session, I'll email you a link to your gallery. From the gallery, you can download the images included in your digital collection. You can also order additional digital images and gorgeous professional quality prints, cards, and albums if you'd like. So easy!

Jen White has taken our family photos the last two years and we absolutely love them. She knows what works and how to make you look good and get the pictures you want. Jen is fantastic to work with! She has done our family photos the last couple years and I am always happy with how they turn out. Jen has been taking our family photos for over 10 years. Her talent for capturing our family moments is on display all over my home. She even went so far as to lay down in bee infested grass to get just the right angle for some of my son's senior photos. Common FAQs
Q: How long have you been a photographer?
A: I've loved photography since high school, and I got my first non-point and shoot camera in 2001 when my first baby was born. It was before the days of digital photography, and I still love a good film print, although I haven't picked up that camera in ages. (Yep, I'm officially old. But I kinda love it.) I photographed friends and family for years, and I finally started Jen White Photography in 2011.
Q: What kind of equipment do you use?
A: This might start getting a bit technical, but I personally use a Canon 5DIV (my backups are a 5DII and a 7D). My favorite lenses are the 24-70mm f/2.8 and my 85mm f/1.8. While I love my gear (seriously, you should see me when I buy a new lens), I'm also constantly taking classes and working with mentors to improve my skills. Every session matters - and this is where the 10+years experience really kicks in.
Q: Do you offer any albums, prints, canvases, etc?
A: Totally! But I want you feeling 1,000% comfortable and excited about the quality of your photographs before placing orders on those. That way, you only order exactly what you want, when you want, and when you know with confidence that they are going to look amazing on your walls and in your fine art heirloom albums. And all of this is done & ordered right through your online gallery!
Q: what happens if it rains the day of my session?
A: Rainy days can make for beautiful images, and sometimes rain in the morning can still mean a dry afternoon. Not all rainy days are created equal! I'll keep an eye on the weather, we can reschedule as needed. Depending on the forecast and type of session, we can usually make that decision the evening before or the morning of. There are also beautiful covered bridges in the area that are perfect for a rainy day and have been some of my favorite sessions.

You will receive high-resolution digital photographs in whichever collection you purchase, a personal-use print release, and all of my years of experience to help ensure everything is both super fun & super smooth along the way. And if you want heirloom artwork or additional portrait sessions, it's all there for you, too! If your collection includes a complimentary print credit, it can be redeemed right from your gallery. So simple!
