Super Fun Playgrounds Your Kids Will Love in Albany, Oregon

Albany has a few dozen parks, most of which have playgrounds. My kids and I have spent many happy hours playing at parks around town, and I appreciate that the city keeps them well-maintained and accessible. Here’s a list of some of our favorite playgrounds in Albany, Oregon.

Super Fun Playgrounds Your Kids Will Love in Albany, Oregon

Lexington Park

We’ve played at Lexington since my kids were little. I love that it has 2 play structures. The smaller one is perfect for little climbers and the other is taller and fun for older kids. There are also swings and teeter-totters. When my kids were younger, I liked that I could sit on a bench between the two structures and keep an eye on both of them. Two half-court basketball courts and a large field are perfect for pick-up games, tossing the football, or family games of soccer. There’s also a large sidewalk path around the park perfect for scooters, bikes, or walking.

Gibson Hill Park

Gibson Hil Park is another fun one for all ages. It’s got 2 play structures like Lexington as well as a large field and sand volleyball court. We’ve lost more than one toy when my kids decided to bury it in that giant sandbox! Parking is shared with the fire station, so there’s lots of off-street parking.

Sunrise Park

Sunrise has 2 fun play structures and a large field, again making it fun for all ages. There’s also a half-court basketball court.

Kinder Park

Kinder Park has fun play structures, but I’ve found it a little better for elementary aged kids and not so much for toddlers. Our family likes to play kickball with friends at Kinder in the baseball diamond.

Bryant Park

I like that the playground at Bryant is away from main roads, so it’s a little quieter. There’s also a covered picnic area with shade, which is a perk for hot days. The covered area can be reserved for private use, but it’s often available for the general public. The park is also on the river, which is perfect if your kids like throwing rocks like mine do.

Grand Prairie Park

The playground at Grand Prairie Park is small and fun, but the real draw for my kids has always been the ducks. We love this park and it’s beautiful pond and all the ducks that come with that.

Mid-Willamette Family YMCA

The Y has opened an accessible playground that’s great for kids of all ages and abilities. They even have a wheelchair-accessible merry-go-round! There are a times when it’s open to Y members and guests only, but it’s also open a few hours a day to the general public. Be sure to check their website for current hours.
