8 Super Awesome Spots for Children’s Birthday Parties in Albany, OR

(AND a bonus list of even more options at the end of the article!)

1-Mid-Willamette Family YMCA

The YMCA has lots of great options for birthday parties.

There are 2 different options for meeting rooms for birthday parties.  You can rent just the room by the hour, or there are party packages that include the room plus swimming during open swim. Party packages also include basic decorations and a gift for the birthday guest. The Y even customizes a digital invitation for you when you purchase a birthday party package!

After-hours pool rentals can accommodate up to 250 swimmers and the rental fee varies depending on how many guests you’ll have.

If you’re looking to do something besides swimming, laser tag and roller skating are great options at the Y. Or you can rent all or a portion of the turf fields for sports.  And if you really want to go big, you can rent the entire YMCA after hours.

2-Safe Haven Humane Society

If you’re raising an animal lover, Safe Haven is the perfect place for your child’s birthday party. They offer parties for children aged 5 to 15 and can accommodate up to 15 kids. Parties last 2 hours and include a room for cake and food (that you provide), basic decorations, and a goodie bag for each child. They also provide a craft and game for the party. The kids get to meet the Safe Haven animals, and the birthday kid gets to name a future Safe Haven animal

3-The Historic Carousel & Museum

The carousel downtown has two meeting rooms perfect for birthday parties. One is right by the carousel so you can see and hear it during the party, and the other is down the hall and a little more tucked away. There are round tables for guests to eat and visit, as well as a couple of other tables provided for cakes, gifts, food, or whatever else you’d like to bring. Ride bracelets for the carousel are included with the room rental, and they also provide water and cups. They’ve got a super easy-to-use booking calendar right on their website.

4-Lakeshore Lanes

We’ve done birthday parties at Lakeshore Lanes and it’s so fun. The kids get 2 hours of bowling, pizza, and soda in the weekday package. If your party is on a Saturday, you’ll get cosmic bowling, an 8-inch cake, and a personalized bowling pin. You need to call to make reservations, and Saturday parties are held at certain times, not all day. If you want even more fun, you can add mini golf to the Saturday package. They’ve also got food you can order and a super fun arcade.

5-Surefire Design

Surefire Design in downtown Albany is a paint-your-own pottery art studio perfect for your budding artist. There are a couple of options for parties here. If you want it all to yourself, you can rent the studio before or after business hours.  Or you can plan to go during regular hours. They prefer a reservation if you’re bringing more than 6 people (even if it’s not for a party). They can

accommodate up to 16 guests and are happy to let you bring in your own food, cake, and basic decorations. Just call and let them know when you’re coming and approximately how many seats you’ll need. The cost will vary depending on what you choose to paint. You’ll leave your art projects there for them to fire and come back another day to pick them up.

6-Splatterbox

My teens LOVE Splatterbox birthday parties! While Surefire is fun for a sit-down, calm birthday experience, Splatterbox is the opposite. The kids get to paint a canvas and each other in black light while rocking out to 90s music. Such a great time. You can book your party through their website.

7-Albany Outdoor Paintball (10+)

If you want an outdoor, active party, Albany Outdoor Paintball is a great option. They require groups of 6 or more, and you need to reserve online at least 24 hours in advance. The kids get to play for a few hours and it’s a seriously good time.

8-City Parks

For a more casual party, several parks around Albany have picnic tables for public use, or you can rent a covered area for a fee. Bowman, Bryant, Grand Prairie, Monteith, and TimberLinn all have covered picnic areas to rent

An at-home birthday party is great, but sometimes it’s nice to do something extra special to celebrate our kids’ milestones. Plus, it’s always a bonus to have the noise and mess somewhere else! There are lots of great options for children’s birthday parties in Albany, OR.
