I have a confession to make. 2023 is the first time our family cut our own Christmas tree. And the experience was so much fun I can’t believe we hadn’t done it before. To be fair, the thought of traipsing out to a farm with 4 boys and a saw hasn’t always been the most appealing thought, but now that we’ve done it, I’m hooked! It’s so simple and fun, and real trees make your house smell so good. If you’re looking for a great tree farm to visit with your kids, I highly recommend Vitae Springs Christmas Tree Farm in Salem, Oregon. 

 

About Vitae Springs Christmas Tree Farm Salem, Oregon

Vitae Springs Farm is owned and operated by Ann and Joe Little at 6057 Vitae Springs Lane South in Salem, Oregon. They started the farm in 2008 when their 3 boys were little to provide an opportunity for their family to work together. Ann says it’s been a way for their family to connect with the community. 

 

 

Services Provided

Vitae Springs is a Douglas Fir lot. Ann and Joe offer u-cut trees, or they can can cut for you. Parking is easy and close to the trees, so it’s especially nice with littles. They’ll help carry your tree if you’d like, and they can help tie it to your car. They also have free cider, coffee, and cocoa plus chocolates and candy canes. Ann says she loves meeting their community and sharing in the holiday spirit.

Dates and Hours 

The tree farm opens the Saturday after Thanksgiving and is open every Saturday and Sunday before Christmas. The hours are 10-4:30 (or until dusk). The 2024 dates are November 30, December 1, 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, and 22.
